Great Beginner’s Book
This book is similar to Friedland’s Walking Bass Lines book, but I think it’s actually a bit more clearly written. Also, the majority of beginner bassists are probably more interested in rock than jazz anyway. This book will teach you how to construct a working bass line over a set of chord changes. I like also that there’s music notation provided as well. This is a really good book for anybody starting off playing bass and I highly recommend it.
